DHAKA: The International Crimes Tribunal, adjacent to the High Court in city, has been covered by a tight security ahead of of the verdict on Matiur Rahman Nizami, accused in charges on crimes against humanity in 1971.

Sources told banglanews that the security measures were strengthened there from the dawn.

Apart from police, RAB personnel and plain dressed detectives are also on alert there to ensure security, they added.

Moreover, according to the sources, numbers of Armored Personnel Carrier (APC) and water cannon are keeping stand-by there beside of increasing numbers of police check posts.

The law enforcers are searching suspected persons in adjoining areas of the Tribunal from the early morning, they added.

However, Ramna Zone police additional deputy-commissioner (ADC) Manzur Ahmed, regarding the matter, said that security tires have been built up in and outside of the court ahead of the verdict of the Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Matiur Rahman Nizami.
