Nizami taken to tribunal

DHAKA: Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Matiur Rahman Nizami has been taken to International Crimes Tribunal-1 at 9:19am Wednesday.

The tribunal is set to pronounce verdict in the charges brought against Nizami for his involvement in crimes against humanity during the liberation war in 1971.

The tribunal, however, led-by Justice M Enayetur Rahim will pronounce the verdict

The other two judges of the tribunal are Justice Anwarul Haque and Justice Jahangir Hossain.

However, Jamaat chief Matiur Rahman Nizami is having the verdict on his 1971 war crimes charges on Wednesday after getting postponed twice before – the latest being on Jun 24 when the accused was said to have fallen sick in prison.
