DHAKA: Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) summoned eight staffers of Chittagong Water Supply and Sewerage Authority (WASA), including its Deputy Secretary M Jahangir Alam, for their alleged corruption in recruitment.
The notice, signed by ACC deputy director Mir Zainul Abedin Shibli, on Thursday asked them to appear before its head office in city's Segun Bagicha area on November 9-10.
Chittagong WASA Assistant Engineer (civil) Farhana Jebin, Account Assistant Afsana Nur, Revenue Officers Mir Hossain and Liakat Ali were summoned to attend in the ACC office on November 9.
Besides, Chittagong WASA Pump operator Moin Uddin, Storekeeper AKM Saifuddin Chowdhury, Assistant Pump operator Tarique Uddin Chowdhury and Chief accused Deputy Secretary Jahanagir Alam were asked to appear on November 10.
ACC sources said they would be quizzed on several allegations, including taking huge bribe in recruitment, promotions, transfer.
