DHAKA: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Thursday categorically said the United Arab Emirates (UAE) government assured Bangladesh to recruit manpower.

The premier, also ruling Awami League president, made the assertion while addressing a press conference at Ganabhaban, official residence of the PM, in the afternoon. 

Sheikh Hasina told journalists that she had talked with UAE Vice President and Prime Minister over resolving problems regarding sending manpower to the country.

She told the journalists: “The UAE visit has been successful in all consideration.”

In response to a question, Sheikh Hasina again rejected any possibility of early parliamentary elections as per the demand many opposition parties.

She said, “An election has been held and the next election will take place on time.”
