DHAKA: Private TV channels RTV and NTV have halted broadcasting immediately after devastating fire broke out at the top floor of the BSEC Building at capital’s Kawranbazar Friday.

Broadcast departments of the TV channels confirmed the matter to banglanews.

Fire service control room said the fire broke out at the top floor, where Daily Amar Desh office housed, at 11:50am. Some 20 fire fighting units trying to douse the fire.

Earlier on February 26 in 2007, fire broke out at the same building which left three killed, over 100 injured and 10 offices burnt.
