DHAKA: A three-member probe committee has been formed over the fire that broke out at the top floor of the BSEC Bhaban at capital’s Kawran bazar Friday.
The investigation committee has been asked to submit the report within seven days, said Fire Service and Civil Defense Director General Brig Gen Ali Ahmed Khan on Friday noon while visiting the spot.
The fire originated from Daily Amar Desh office around 11:50am which situated at 11th floor of the building.
Later, a total of 20 units of fire fighting team of Tejgaon headquarters, Mohammadpur and Palasi fire stations doused the fire after two hours of frantic efforts.
Earlier on February 26 in 2007, fire broke out at the same building which left three killed, over 100 injured and 10 offices burnt.
