Bashudhara to build country’s largest mosque

DHAKA: Country’s leading business conglomerate Bashundhara Group Friday laid the foundation of country’s biggest mosque named ‘Bashundhara Central Mosque’. 

The mosque is going to be founded at ‘N’ block of Bashundhara Residential area on 3.50 bighas of land to accommodate 50,000 persons in a single prayer.

Bashundhara Group Chairman Ahmed Akbar Sobhan graced the foundation laying program with his presence while Bashundhara Islamic Research Centre’s founding director Mufti Abdur Rahman inaugurated the construction works after Juma prayer.

East West Property Development Ltd (EWPD) is implementing the construction of the Mosque. 

The mosque will be decorated with high quality tiles and 120 feet high Minar of touch-stone, EWPD authority informed. 

The construction of the mosque will be completed in three years.

A huge Eidgah and a graveyard on 1.5 bigha land area will be established adjacent to the mosque for the dwellers of Bashundhara Residential Area, EWPD men added. 

Adequate lands for building 50 more mosques in Bashundhara Residential area have also been allocated, they informed.
