DHAKA: Jamaat-e-Islami leader Mir Quasem Ali on Friday has been brought to the Dhaka Central Jail from Kashimpur Jail ahead of his verdict in war crimes related cases.
Earlier, a prison van carrying the war crimes accused left Kashimpur Jail around 12:10pm for Dhaka.
On April 1, Mir Quasem Ali was taken to Kashimpur jail where he was kept as a division prisoner.
Kashimpur central jail (Part-2) Jailer Mujibur Rahman confirmed the matter to banglanews.
A total of 14 allegations including murder, abduction, torture, arson, looting and body dumping were brought against him.
As per formal allegations, Mir Quasem Ali was commander of Al-Badr (a group which assisted then Pakistani occupation army) of Chittagong town during the Liberation War in 1971. Al Badr, Al-Shams and Razakar and Razaker forces led-by Mir Quasem Ali conducted killing there.
