SUNAMGANJ: A Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) personnel drowned after a boat capsized in Patlai River in Tahirpur upazila of the district on Friday night. 

The deceased was identified as Bidarshan Barua, 40, a member of BGB Baliaghat camp. 

BGB sources said that the boat capsized while a BGB patrol team was crossing the river to return to Baliaghat (BOP) camp around 8:00pm. 

Three personnel succeeded to swim across the river but Bidarshan Barua went missing. 

Later, BGB personnel recovered the body after searching for half an hour.
