DHAKA: Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)-1 detained four people including two Assistant Sub-Inspectors of Vatara Thana from Kuril Bishwa road area in city Saturday morning. 

The detainees were identified as Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Mir Sirajul Islam and Kawsar, Constable Rahman and driver Asaduzzaman. 

Confirming the matter, Vatara Thana Officer-in-Charge Sarwar Alam told banglanews that the detainees kidnapped one Shamsu and demanded Tk 100,000 as ransom. 

Later, victim’s maternal uncle Abul Hossain filed a General Diary (GD) with Khilgaon Thana in this regard and informed the matter to RAB-1. 

Following the matter, RAB-1 personnel detained the police men from the area. 

A case is going to be filed in this connection, OC added.
