JHENIDAH: Two people, including a woman, were killed and six others injured a truck crushed into an auto-rickshaw in Nimtala area under Kaliganj upazila of the district on Saturday.

Of the deceased, one was identified as Sadhan Ghosh, 45, son of Anil Ghosh of Narendrapur village of the upazila.

Kaliganj Thana Officer-In-Charge Anwar Hossain told banglanews that a rashly-driven truck crushed into the auto-rickshaw on Jessore-Jhenidah road in the area at 2:30pm, leaving a man dead on the spot and injuring seven others.

The fatally injured woman succumbed to injuries on way to the hospital, said a spot account of the accident.

The injured were taken to Kaliganj Upazila Health Complex.
