DHAKA: A female food inspector allegedly committed suicide taking sleeping pills centering family feud in city’s Mirpur area on Saturday.

The deceased was identified as Nadia Sultana, 35, wife of Mohammad Aktaruzzaman.

Police sources said that Nadia attempted to commit suicide by taking overdosing on sleeping pills Friday evening.

However, she was rushed to Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College Hospital in a critical condition where she succumbed at 9:30am. Outage

Nadia’s aunty Layla Yasmin told banglanews that her (Nadia) husband had an extramarital affair with a woman. “This might have led to commit suicide,” she said.

The body was kept at Dhaka Medical College Hospital morgue.

Sub-Inspector of Mirpur police station Asif Iqbal confirmed the matter to banglanews.
