DHAKA: Power supply is getting normal after hours-long outage across the country due to national grid failures after Bangladesh-India power interconnection line tripped at Bheramara in Kushtia on Saturday morning.
Finance Minister AMA Muhith said that though a great crisis took place across the country today (Saturday) but the power supply is expected to become normal by 12:00am Sunday.
The minister was speaking at a program at Bangabandhu International Conference Center of the city at that time the country went dark everywhere.
Power supply from all the plants remained suspended across the country since 11:30am. Though power was restored at different places but it went in vain within few minutes.
Meanwhile, power supply started becoming normal in a total of 30 districts of the country and the Dhaka city since the evening.
