DHAKA: The family members of death convict Jamaat leader Kamaruzzaman met him at Dhaka Central Jail around 10:00am on Wednesday.
Lawyer Shishir Monir told banglanews that this was a regular family meeting; they were not called by the jail authorities.
On Tuesday (November 4), Kamaruzzaman was shifted to Dhaka Central Jail from Kashimpur Jail.
On Monday (November 3), the Supreme Court Appellate Division upheld the death sentence against Jamaat assistant secretary general Muhammad Kamaruzzaman.
He was sentenced to death in 3rd and 4th number charges—brought for the mass killing in Shohagpur village of Sherpur district and killing of Golam Mostafa.
On May 9, 2013, the ICT-2, led-by Justice Obaidul Hassan, awarded capital punishment to the Jamaat assistant secretary general for his crimes against humanity during country’s Liberation War in 1971.
