DHAKA: Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Minster Anisul Haque on Wednesday said the jail authorities were asked to be prepared to hang war crimes convict Mohammad Kamaruzzamn.

The minister was talking to journalists at his Gulshan residence in the city this evening.

He said, “The jail authorities have been asked to be prepared to hang Kamaruzzaman as he will be executed anytime after 7-day of hearing verdict if does not seek mercy.”

Mentioning of reasonable time, he said, “Kamaruzzaman will be given reasonable time for mercy petition to the President.”

Regarding the review petition, he told the journalists that it has a provision of dismissing review petition in the case of Jamaat leader Quader Mollah.
