CHANDPUR: Two minor siblings were burnt at Durgapur village in Faridganj upazila of the district on Saturday.

The deceased were identified as Afrin, 9, and her younger brother Al-Amin, 4, children of Alamgir Hossain of the area.

Relative of the victims Alauddin said that the kids were playing with a match at their room in the morning.

At one stage, they came in contact to a highly flammable bottle of spirit and the fire originated, leaving them critically injured, he added.

They were rushed to Chandpur Sadar Hospital where they were recommended to be shifted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH).

They succumbed to their injuries on the way to DMCH at noon.
