GAZIPUR: At least five RMG workers were injured as police fired bullets and teargas shells on the agitating employees of Classic Fashion in Tongi of the district on Monday.

The identities of the injured could be known immediately.

Sources told banglanews that the incident took place in the evening.

Witnesses said that police opened fire as the agitating workers were trying to vandalize the factory property in protest of the alleged torture of the factory officials to the general employees.

Earlier, the workers arranged demonstration in front the factory demanding the resignation of some higher officials including the factory’s general manager over the allegation of torture and illegal activities.
