TANGAIL: A fire broke out at Nahian Petrol Pump at Bauikhola Gulla area of the district Tuesday morning.
Six fire fighting units tried for two hours to bring the fire under control. Later, they brought foam-like materials from Gazipur Fire Service Station and brought the fire under control around 11:15am.
Officer-in-Charge of Tangail Sadar Thana Golam Mostafa told banglanews fire broke out as a passenger bus knocked an oil tanker while it was unloading at the petrol pump.
The oil tanker, a covered van and a bus was completely burnt and four trucks were burnt partially, he added.
Assistant Director of Tangail Fire Service confirmed the matter to banglanews.
However, plying of vehicles on Dhaka-Tangail highway has been resumed.
