RAJBARI: Two minor girls drowned in a pond at Mohadebpur village under Sadar upazila of the district on Tuesday.

The deceased was identified as Subarna, 7, daughter of Akan Mondal of the village and Dola, 6, daughter of Abdur Razzak of Dayalnagar village of the upazila.

Locals said they drowned in the pond while they were going to take bath in the morning. After a frantic search, local recovered the bodies from the pond.

Upazila Parishad Chairman Atiar Rahman of Mizanpur union confirmed the matter to banglanews.
