JSC examinee killed in road mishap

BARISAL: A Junior School Certificate (JSC) examinee was killed and two others injured in a road accident on Dhaka-Bariasal highway at Baidyapara area under Sadar upazila on Thursday morning.

The deceased was identified as Nadia Akhter, 14, student of Sabera Khatun High School and daughter of one Mostafa Mia, hailed from Choumatha area of the town.

Ward Master of Sher-e-Bangla Medical College and Hospital (SBMCH) of Barisal Abul Kalam told banglanews that a goods-laden truck knocked the auto-rickshaw that was carrying Nadia to her examination centre around 9:45am, leaving her injured critically.

Locals rushed her to SBMCH where on duty doctor declared her dead, he added. The other two injured were given primary treatment.

Second Officer of Kotwali Thana Golam Kabir told they have seized the truck but the driver managed to flee the spot.
