CHITTAGONG: Customs officials on Thursday recovered 40 gold bars from a plane after passenger left those under seat at Shah Amanat International Airport in Chittagong.
Sources said that the gold bars, weighing 4.5kg, was found in the morning at a flight of Bangladesh Biman, came here from Abu Dhabi.
Confirming the matter, Customs assistant commissioner Tapan Kumar Chakrabarty told banglanews that they found the gold bars, worth Tk 2 crores, at the below of a passenger’s seat.
“The gold was recovered during routine check after passengers’ leaving,” he added.
