DHAKA: The Government has decided to appoint Md. Shahab Ullah, Secretary to the Government and currently placed under MOFA on deputation as the next Ambassador of Bangladesh to Vietnam.

Md. Shahab Ullah belongs to the 1981 batch of BCS (Administration) Cadre. 

In his long distinguished career he has left marks of an efficient public servant in different government organizations that he has worked in. He served as the Chairman of Bangladesh Tariff Commission and as a Member of the Planning Commission. 

Besides those assignments Md. Shahab Ullah worked in the Cabinet and Finance Divisions, Export Promotion Bureau, M/O Local Government & Rural Development and also in the M/O Civil Aviation & Tourism in different capacities.

Md. Shahab Ullah obtained his MSS and BSS in International Relations from Dhaka University. He is married to Mrs. S A Jahan Chowdhury and they are blessed with three children.
