DHAKA: An Indian citizen was detained with 3kg gold from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in city on Friday. 

The detainee is Mahesh Kumar Gopal Dash.

Sources told banglanews that the customs intelligence authorities detained him on Friday noon.

Confirming the matter, customs assistant commissioner Farid Al Mamun said that the gold was found with Mahesh, an Indian citizen, who landed Dhaka by a Fly Dubai flight around 12:30pm.

“The gold, weighing 3kg, was found after checking his bag over suspicion while crossing the green channel,” he added.
