DHAKA: Customs intelligence on Saturday detained a man with 20 gold bars weighing 2kgs from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in city.

The detainee is Molla Hashem, who landed Dhaka by a Bangladesh Biman flight from Malaysia.

Confirming the matter, customs joint commissioner Kazi Muhammad Ziauddin told banglanews that the gold bars, found with Hashem.

“Customs intelligence found the gold after checking the man over suspicion in the morning,” he added.

Earlier, an Indian citizen was also detained on Friday along with 3kg gold from this Airport.
