DHAKA: Bangladesh Bank asked all taxpayer identification number (TIN) account holders of scheduled banks and financing institutions to update their 12-digit TIN number.

A circular signed by BB’s Department of Financial Institutions and Markets (DFIM) deputy general manager Mohammad Ahmed Ali was issued on the matter on Monday.

All scheduled banks and financing institutions were asked to take necessary steps in this regard in accordance with the latter from National Board of Revenue.

BB made the order under the Section no. 53(F) of The Income Tax Ordinance 1984.
