DHAKA: The Executive Committee of National Economic Council (ECNEC) has approved eight projects, including Ashuganj-Bhulta 400kv Transmission Line, involving Tk 2,228 crore.
The approval came from the ECNEC meeting on Monday held at the NEC conference room in the city’s Sher-e-Bangla Nagar with its chairperson and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in the chair.
The government will provide over Tk 1,272 crore and the rest amount will come from project assistance. Four of the projects are new while the rest are revised.
After the meeting, Planning Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal told reporters that ECNEC approved a total of seven development projects, including the transmission line with the outlay of Taka 1353.46 crore.
The projects included ‘Ashuganj-Bhulta 400kv Transmission Line’, construction of one kilometer of ‘Bhulta-Ghorashal-Rampura 230kv dual Circuit Line-in and Line-out’ and two combined cycle power plants in Ashuganj.
The projects also included Fashion Design and Training Institute in Narshingdi and three training centers in Tangail, Moulvibazar and Sirajganj.
Road constructions in Netrokona were also included in the projects.
