DHAKA: The parliament on Wednesday unanimously passed the 'Bangladesh Hotels and Restaurants Bill 2014' making the arrangement of chemical test on foods dirking water mandatory.
The bill was passed on voice vote after Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister Rashed Khan Menon placed it before the House.
According to the newly Act, all 3-star or higher quality hotels will be required No-objection Certificate (NOC) from the government and renewal of hotels and restaurants have been made mandatory.
The act has a provision for six month imprisonment and Tk 200,000 fine on ground law violation.
