DHAKA: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, also ruling Awami League president, on Thursday put emphasis on more practice of culture to meet the hunger of the mind.
The premier came up with the assertion while addressing a program during her visit to the cultural affairs ministry at the secretariat.
“It is not wise to give importance to only fulfilling the belly. We will also have to give importance to meet the hunger of mind. So, it is necessary to practice of more culture,” she said.
She also said alien culture should be avoided. The decadent culture should not be allowed to grab society, she expected.
The PM hoped that country’s culture and tradition should be presented to the young generation by using information technology.
The premier further said that the nation should keep their age-old traditions alive. Advanced necessary initiatives should be taken in this regard, she added.
She added: “Keeping the country’s culture and tradition alive, we should step forward to the modern world.”
The PM also said that the younger generation is now using computers, internet and web-portals. They should use these modern equipment for saving the culture of the country.
Cultural Affairs Minister Asaduzzaman Noor and secretary Ranjit Biswas, among others, were present during her visit.
