NARAYANGANJ: The authorities Friday suspended four police members including a Sub-Inspector (SI) of Narayanganj Bandar Thana on allegation of involvement in drug trading.

One of the suspended is SI Masudul Haque of Kamtal police outpost of the Thana. Though, other three police officials’ identity could not be known immediately.

Narayanganj Superintendent of police (SP) Dr Khandaker Muhid Uddin confirmed the matter to banglanews and proper steps would be taken against them for doing non-professional attitude.

The sources said the law enforcers and DB police conducted a joint drive led by ASP of Narayanganj A circle early Friday in the police outpost and seized 1,500 pieces of Yaba.

They also detained nine police officials form the spot including the SI Masudul.

However, the authorities initially suspended the four police member as they found evidence against the detainees.
