DHAKA: US Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asian Affairs Nisha Desai Biswal is set to visit Bangladesh on Thursday, said a Washington DC media note Friday night.

The US Assistant Secretary will arrive in Bangladesh directly from Nepal after attending the 18th South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) Summit to be held on November 26-27, where she will represent the United States as an observer state, the release added.

However, according to the media note, Nisha Desai Biswal is traveling to Dhaka to participate in meetings with Bangladeshi government officials, civil society and labor group leaders, and members of the business community.

Moreover, she will visit India before Nepal for internal consultations and bilateral meetings, and later, will be in Uzbekistan and Switzerland regarding bilateral and regional issues.
