DHAKA: Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) will set up mobile courts to ensure safe road crossing through zebra crossing, over-bridge and underpass in the capital from November 25.

DMP sources said, violators will face imprisonment and fine in this regard.

Elaborating the matter in a press briefing at DMP media center on Saturday, DMP Commissioner Benazir Ahmed said rules violators have to serve highest six months in jail and Tk 200 as fine.

He also said DMP will run a 3-day awareness campaign from Farmgate to Ruposhi Bangla from November 22 ahead of the drive.

Mobile courts will take immediate actions if any pedestrian violates rules, DMP commissioner added.
