JS delegation meets Mamata

DHAKA: An eight-member parliamentary delegation met India’s West Bengal chief minister (CM) Mamata Banerjee at Nabanna Bhavan in Kolkata on Saturday afternoon, says a press release.

Lt Col (retd) Faruk Khan led the eight-member delegation while the others were 10th Parliament whip Iqbalur Rahim, Kazi Nabil Ahmed, Pankaj Nath, Mustafa Lutfullah, Nahim Razzaq, Mahjabeen Khaled and M Shafiqul Islam Shimul.

Meeting sources said Mamata discussed different issues at the meeting. The West Bengal CM said she loved Bangladesh; language and culture has made closer to each other.

Love cannot be divided by border and solution of all problems is possible through discussion, she added.

Recalling old memories with Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, Mamata invited Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to visit West Bengal, expressing her willingness to come to Bangladesh.

Mamata also said dispute over the India-Bangladesh Land Boundary Agreement will be settled soon through discussion.
