DHAKA: A devastating fire broke out at a petrol pump in city’s Mohakhali area on Sunday evening.

The fire originated around 6:45pm at the fuel pump. The reason behind its origination could not be known immediately.

On information, eight fire fighting units from Tejgaon and Mohammadpur rushed in and doused the blaze after an hour.

Fire Control Room Officer-in-Charge Enyet Hossain confirmed the matter to banglanews.

People from adjacent areas come down to the street in fear and they were seen clapping and cheering after the fire was finally put out.

Traffic movement was halted on the Moghbazar-bound road from Mohakhali Bus Terminal to Tejgaon intersection.
