NDF’s hartal Tuesday on Latif issue

DHAKA: National Democratic Front (NDF) threatened to observe countrywide hartal on Tuesday if the government does not arrest Latif Siddique by Monday evening.

NDF president Shawkat Hossain Nilu made the declaration at a press conference at the National Press Club at noon.

The party secretary general Alamgir Mazumder read out the written statement at the conference.

Sheikh Anwarul Haque (NAO, Vasani), acting chairman of Islamic Party MA Rashid, among others attended the program.

Recently, Latif Siddique was sacked from the ruling Awami League cabinet, expelled from the party presidency and later from the party for his comments about hajj, Hazarat Mohammad (PBUH) and Tablighi Jamaat.
