DHAKA: Transparency International Bangladesh (TIB) is set to introduce Garments Industries Transparency Initiative (GITI) system aiming to ensure more transparency in RMG sector.
Transparency International (TI) founder Dr Peter Eigen said in his keynote paper at a press conference at TIB office in Banani in city on Monday.
The TI boss said that GITI, a scheme taken after the coordination of many stakeholders, will ensure transparency in RMG sector and bring changes in the condition of workers.
GITI wants to make a framework with the coordination of manufacturers, buyers, labor organizations and members of civil society in national and international level, he added.
Dr Peter said that the implementation of GTIT will be possible by one year if we properly get cooperation from the stakeholders.
He hoped that if the system is implemented in Bangladesh, it will play an effective role in this sector.
