FROM YUNNAN PROVINCE, CHINA: The Chinese government is eager to form the Bangladesh–China–India–Myanmar (BCIM) Forum for Regional Cooperation corridor without any delay as it will directly facilitate about 10 crore people of the four nations.
It will connect India’s Northeast, Bangladesh, Myanmar, and the Chinese province of Yunnan through a network of roads, railways, waterways, and airways under a proper regulatory framework.
The Chinese leaders urged others to keep faith in them saying they will not try to establish supremacy as powerful nation.
Besides, they are holding seminars and discussions to make others understand how all four nations will be benefited from the initiative.
“It’s a tie of relationship”
Professor of China Institute of Contemporary National Relation Li said BICM corridor would accelerate the development of the member nations through sharing economic development techniques while it’s a relation, not a route.
The initiative will give opportunities to work jointly on roads, telecommunications, currencies, people, education and human resources of the member countries, he added.
Explaining the objectives of BICM, Lee said Asian Development Bank (ADB) and World Bank (WB) is going to partner the initiative in a bid to increase regional link and building global connections.
“Social and effective communication initiative of 4 nations”
Chief Officer of NDRC Hu Hao said this initiative would help in social and effective communication for power and energy and trade.
Through the economic corridor, there will be an unlimited opportunities of communications among member nations and ‘One Belt and One Road” program will develop the relation, he added.
Those who are following China and India in development, they will certainly be benefited for this corridor, Hu further added.
“No interference in internal issue”
In regard of BICM in Access, Professor Hao Kun said it would create a amazing atmosphere of communication and crores of people of four countries will own this corridor.
He added that they won’t interfere into any internal issue and will discourage others to do so.
“Technology sharing and border tension to be mitigated”
Professor of Sociology of Yunnan Academy Yang Siling said BICM corridor would play a vital role in regional communication among four nations. It will help in technology sharing and will mitigate border tension.
Everything depends on proper management and BICM to accelerate the development, he added.
“Useful and timely initiative”
Predicting the future of Bangladesh-China relation, researcher Li Jinze said this relation would be more strengthened through sharing investment, merits and technology.
He added that they are eager and hopeful about the corridor as it is suitable and timely.
“No competitor, no supremacy”
In response to query whether China will try to establish supremacy in the corridor, Li said, none is supreme here and all will show mutual courtesy.
Their aim is to build an opportunity for trade and development through mutual assistance and trade, he added.
“Time and cost of traveling to be less”
Vice president of international affairs of China government Guo Yezhou said this corridor would reduce the time and cost of communication.
“Tourism sectors to get boosted”
Yang and Li both said BICM corridor would enrich the tourism sector of member countries and we have to think anew for beefing up security.
“Website and working group”
Yang Li proposed to build a website to make the corridor more effective. He thinks conference can be held creating working group.
