India partakes in 16th Asian Art Biennale Bangladesh

DHAKA: Several eminent Indian artists along with artists across Asia have participated in the month-long 16th Asian Art Biennale Bangladesh 2014 that has started at National Art Gallery of Bangladesh Shillpakala Academy (BSA) in the city from Monday.

Indian artists include Dhiraj Choudhury, Amitava Tripathi, Debanjan Roy, Jayashree Chakrabarti, Aditya Basak, Chandra Bhattachajee, Chhatrapati Dutta, Sekhar Roy and Vinita Karim, says a press release issued by High Commission of India.

Indira Gandhi Cultural Centre (IGCC) has facilitated the participation of the Indian artists in the Biennale, the release added.

Artworks of the Indian artists are on display in Gallery 5 of Shilpakala Academy.

The programme will continue until December 31, 2014.

Asian Art Biennale Bangladesh, since its beginning in 1981, has attempted to display the kaleidoscope of various artistic endeavours of current era in which continuity and change come together.

Asian Art Biennale is proud to showcase the artistic heritage and contemporary aesthetic trends in Asia.
