COMILLA: Rail communication on Dhaka-Chittagong and Chittagong-Sylhet routes was restored after three hours of disruption following a train derailment in Moynamoti of Comilla district on Thursday morning.
Train service resumed around 1:00pm after a rescue train from Laksham managed to salvage the compartment that derailed in Jangalia area, said Mostafizur Rahman, Assistant Engineer of the railway.
Four wheels of a compartment of Jalalabad Express, Chittagong-bound train from Sylhet, veered off the tracks around 9:55am, halting train services on Dhaka-Chittagong, Chittagong Sylhet routes, he added.
The Dhaka-Chittagong-Sylhet train link was suspended after the derailment, he added.
No casualties were reported in the incident.
