CHITTAGONG: A motorcyclist was killed as a bus knocked him down in Banshkhali upazila of the district on Thursday afternoon.

The deceased was identified as Mohammad Ayub, 50.

After the accident, locals set fire to the bus and blockaded the road.

Banshkhali Thana Sub-Inspector (SI) Ali Akkas told banglanews that a Chittagong-bound bus ‘Allah Malik Paribahan’ knocked the motorbike down and left the motorcyclist dead on the spot.

Later, people seized the bus and set fire on it. They also blockaded the road, the SI added.

According to him, police, on information, rushed to the spot and kept the situation under their control.
