CHITTAGONG: A student of Chittagong University (CU) sustained serious injuries as he slipped on the rail tracks while trying to get up a running train in Sholoshhor area of the port city Saturday.

The injured is Mehedi Hasan, a student of Management Department of academic session 2011-2-12.

Police sources said Mehedi was trying to get up the CU-bound shuttle train at 8.20am. As the train was running, he failed to catch it and fell on the rail lines, leaving him seriously injured.

Fellow students rushed him to Chittagong Medical College and Hospital (CMCH).

Nayek Shilabrat Barua of CMCH police outpost confirmed the matter to banglanews.
