DHAKA: Miscreants shot a shopkeeper and snatched Tk 20 lakh in Goran area of the capital on Sunday morning. 

The victim, Abu Salam, 28, is a shopkeeper of Ekata General Store of the area.

Salam told banglanews that he was on his way to a bank to deposit Tk 20 lakh of the shop carrying in a bag at 10:30am in the day.

A mugging gang numbering 3/4 shot at his thigh and snatched the bag of money, he added.

The victim’s coworker Anwar Hossain rescued Salam and rushed him to Khidmah General Hospital.

Salam was later shifted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital..
