12 drug peddlers held in Rangpur

RANGPUR: A mobile court on Sunday detained 12 people, including two women, for their alleged involvement in drug peddling from different area.

The detainees are Sohel Mia and Sumon from Alamdanga of the district, Hashem Uddin from Tajhat, Shakil Ahammed and Tarek Hasan of Senpara, Siraj of College Road, Jubaidul Islam of Jummapara, Sukumar and Nur Mohammad of Thikadar Para, Marufa Begum and Kulsum Begum of Pirjabad and Obaidur Rahman of Mouvasha.

However, sources said they were fined and sentenced with different terms of imprisonment.

District executive magistrates SM Nazia Sultana Khaleda Banu Rekha and Mintu Biswas passed the order, sources added.
