DHAKA: A total of 101,758 Bangladeshi pilgrims will get opportunity to perform hajj this year at Tk 296,206 –Tk 354,745.

Some 10,000 pilgrims will perform hajj under government management while 91,758 under private management.

The Cabinet on Monday approved the draft of the ‘Hajj Package 2015’ for pilgrims with two alternative packages in a regular meeting, with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in the chair.

After the meeting, Cabinet Secretary Mosharraf Hossain Bhuiyan briefed journalists.

Regarding cost of performing hajj, he said the hajj package has been fixed Tk354,745 as the maximum cost for each pilgrim under the first package while Tk296,206 under the second package.

Pilgrims have to register online paying TK151,690 while rest of the money has to be deposited by June 10.

Online registration will begin on January 21, 2015 and end on February 5.
