DHAKA: Power Distribution Company Limited (DPDC) will set up a switch station for 11KV electricity in ensuring uninterrupted power supply for Bangabhaban, Ganabhaban and Prime Minister’s Office (PMO).

The project, involving Tk 24.89 crore, is set to be placed at of Executive Committee of National Economic Council (ECNEC) meeting for approval.

A DPDC official on Monday told banglanews that due to its importance the project will be placed to the ECNEC meeting on Tuesday.

It would ensure uninterrupted power supply to Bangabhaban, Ganabhaban and Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), he added.

A planning commission source said the new project has been included to the Annual Development Programme (ADP) for 2014-15 FY.

However, the project has been taken as Bangabhaban, Ganabhaban and PMO belong to ‘Key Point Installation’ (KPI). Electric equipments should be well-checked to ensure uninterrupted power supply to the KPIs.
