Ashulia factory closed sine die

ASHULIA (DHAKA): Authorities of a readymade garment Tuesday closed its factory for indefinite period in Old DPEZ area in Savar amid workers unrest.

Around 2,000 workers of Padx Garment Factory went to the workplace in the morning and found a factory closure notice hanging on its main entrance.

The closure sparked anger among the workers. They tried to bring out demonstration in the area, but police dispersed them.

Tense situation prevailed in the factory since the workers locked into a clash with the factory owners over a trifling matter on Monday that left five people injured.

Director of Ashulia Industrial Police Mostafijur Rahman confirmed the matter to banglanews.

Additional police forces have been deployed in front of the factory to avoid any untoward situation, said the director.
