MUNSHIGANJ: Ferry services on Mawa and Kawrakandi route resumed Tuesday after more than 11 hours of disruption due to poor visibility caused by dense fog.
Sources told banglanews that 12 ferries, which were forced to anchor in the mid Padma, started for their respective destinations at 10:00am after the disappearance of fog.
Earlier, Mawa office of the Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Corporation (BIWTC) was forced to suspend the ferry services around 11:00pm due to thick fog.
However, 300 onboard passengers were in mid river at that time.
Later, after, resuming services, all the ferries reached their respective destinations by 10:30am.
