DHAKA: A housewife allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself in city’s Shukrabhanga Turag area on Tuesday.

The deceased was identified as Kulsum Akhter, 28, wife of Mohammad Hossain Mia, resident of the area.

Sources told banglanews that the incident took place at noon.

Confirming the matter, Mohammad Hossain Mia said Kulsum hanged herself at her bedroom following a quarrel over paying their children’s school fees.

He added: “Later, she was rushed to Uttara Adhunik Medical College and Hospital where on-duty doctor declared her dead.”

Regarding the matter, Turag Thana Sub-Inspector (SI) Azharul Islam said that after recovering the body police sent it to Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
