DHAKA: Chinese foreign minister Wang Yi will come to Bangladesh on a three-day visit on December 27.
The foreign minister is scheduled to attend a bilateral meeting with his Bangladesh counterpart AH Mahmood Ali.
A Bangladesh foreign ministry source said that the upcoming 40th anniversary of diplomatic ties between the two friendly nations and planning of some programs will get priority in their parley.
Wang Yi is also scheduled to pay courtesy calls to President Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
Moreover, the visiting diplomat is also expected to meet some cabinet members.
Earlier in June, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina invited Chinese Prime Minister Li Keqiang to visit Bangladesh in her meeting with him in China.
According to the sources, the upcoming meeting of the foreign ministers may discuss about the Chinese premier’s expected visit to Bangladesh.
They will also discuss about the progress in implementing the agreements signed during Sheikh Hasina’s China visit.
