DHAKA: President M Abdul Hamid has called upon the people for efficient use of electricity and emphasized to use renewable energy besides fossil fuel.

The president made the remarks while inaugurating a three-day long power fair in Bangabandhu International Conference Center of the city on Thursday afternoon.

The slogan of the power week is ‘Jolche Alo, Cholche Desh, Alokito Bangladesh’ (light is shining, country is running, enlightened Bangladesh).

Earlier on November 30, the power week program began with scouting campaign. The program contains three-day long fair and countywide campaign from December 18 to December 21.

State minister Nasrul Hamid for Ministry of Power, Energy and Mineral Resources chaired the program where finance minister AMA Muhith, standing committee chairman M Tajul Islam for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources affairs were present as chief guest.
