DHAKA: Bangladesh Navy Ship ‘Shomudro Joy’ has reached Male with 100 tones of bottled drinking water and 5 desalination plants on Thursday.
These have been sent by the government of Bangladesh as assistance to Maldives to address their drinking water crisis in capital city Male, a press release said.
Water and desalination plants have been handed over to Maldivian Authorities this afternoon by Bangladesh High Commissioner in Male Rear Admiral Abdul Awal through a ceremony.
Maldivian Defense Minister and Home Minister received those in presence of their senior Foreign Ministry officials and other dignitaries.
Maldives government deeply appreciated Bangladesh’s assistance.
